Grizzell has been a private music teacher for over 25 years. She has
also been a high school music director in the Chicago area, and has
conducted choruses in this area and in the United Kingdom
Betsy
is a professional singer. She is a section leader with the Chicago
Symphony Chorus, and is a founding member of its Resident Ensemble
and the Chicago Symphony Singers. She also sings with Chicago a
cappella, and Richard Proulx's Cathedral Singers. She has sung with
the London Phiharmonia Chorus and the Wooburn Singers of England.
Betsy
continues her own education, attending workshops and adding methods
such as the Orff approach to her teaching repertoire. She is in
demand as a speaker, most recently appearing at the conferences
of Chorus America, and the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association.
A group of her students recently wowed the members of the National
Keyboard Conference with a demonstration of their musical abilities.
As both a musician and mother of two young children, Betsy brings the unique combination of skilled musical instructor and tender caregiver to her MusiKids program, now over 120 students strong. Her love for music and affection for children allows her to create an exciting, yet considerate educational experience.
